早前Ellen在洛杉磯慶祝母親Martha Philpotts退休,為給她一個驚喜,Ellen在party上與Alia Shawkat  (在Ellen新戲《Whip it》合演的明星) 和美國歌星Har Mar Superstar合唱樂隊Journey的歌《Don't Stop Believin'》,再次展露了她的歌唱才華。

今日除了是Ellen生日外，亦是《Juno少女孕記》在香港上映的日子，它在美國的票房是其餘四部奧斯卡侯選最佳電影之首，不知在香港的票房成績會如何呢?

奧斯卡頒獎禮還有幾天便會舉行，很期待Ellen當天的盛裝出席．雖然有些報導認為Ellen年資未夠，入圍最佳女主角只屬陪跑，但亦有報導認為她是有機會跑出，是不可忽視的，但無論如何，Ellen在之前的一個訪問中表示自己並無心爭獎，她更說自己連講詞也不用準備了，可見她的謙虛。

大發現!在Halifax Grammar School的網業(http://www.hgs.ns.ca/)內發現了一張Ellen學生時代的相片,原來她以前是在這間學校讀書的。

Biography

1987年2月21日出生於加拿大新斯科舍省(Nova Scotia)省府哈利法克斯(Halifax)，她從很小時就意識到自己喜歡表演，10歲進入當地著名的Neptune Theatre School學習，同年即被溫暖感人的電視劇《 Pit Pony》挑中，該片為Ellen在2000年贏得了“最佳劇情類電視劇新演員獎(女)”(Young Artist Award - Best Performance in a TV Drama Series - Leading Young Actress)、 “最佳青少年劇集表演獎”(Gemini Award - Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series)兩項提名，接下來Ellen在加拿大廣受歡迎的電視劇《Trailer Park Boys》中擔任配角，它為Ellen贏得了第二次Gemini Award(艾美獎)提名“整體表演獎”(Best Ensemble Cast)。
